Science without Borders (CSF)
The Science without Borders program aims at promoting the consolidation, expansion and internalization of science and technology, innovation and competitiveness by means of exchange and international mobility. This initiative is a result of a joint effort by the Ministries of Science, the Ministry of Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Education (MEC), by means of their respective development agencies – CNPq and CAPES -, and the Secretariats of Higher Education and Technical Teaching of the Ministry of Education.
The project aims at granting 101.000 scholarships during a period of four years in order to promote exchange, so that undergraduate and graduate students may go on placements abroad with the purpose of getting into contact with competitive educational systems with relation to technology and innovation. Besides, SwB aims at attracting researchers from other countries who intend to settle in Brazil or establish partnerships with Brazilian researchers in priority areas which are defined in the program, as well as creating opportunities for researchers from companies to receive specialized training abroad.
