Application and Enrollment Procedures for Short-Term Internships
International students wishing to undertake short-term internships at UFC must follow the procedures outlined below:
Step 1: Submission of Application by the Host Program
With the acknowledgment of its parent academic unit, the host program at UFC must submit an application package to the Office of International Affairs (Prointer) through the University’s Electronic Information System, with the following documents:
- Official letter including the student’s full name, email address, internship period, home institution, and the laboratory or department where the activities will take place;
- Invitation letter or Learning Agreement;
- Application form, completed and signed by the student and representatives of the home institution;
- Copy of a valid passport (identification page with photo).
Step 2: Letter of Acceptance
After reviewing the documentation, the Office of International Affairs issues the official letter of acceptance required for the visa application.
Step 3: Student Visa Application
With the acceptance letter in hand, the student must apply for a student visa at the Brazilian consulate in their home country.
Step 4: Enrollment
The Office of International Affairs formally requests the student’s enrollment with the Office of Undergraduate Studies (Prograd), ensuring the student’s official affiliation with UFC for the duration of the internship.
Step 5: Arrival and Integration at UFC
Upon arrival at UFC, the student is welcomed by the Internationalization Support Program (PAI), which provides guidance and support for academic and cultural integration.
